The Collapse at Flatside

The ground shook and rumbled for four long days in Gilmoril. Heinous sounds could be heard blasting out from Flatside, which would soon earn its new moniker. On the final day, the entire south-eastern half of the mountain was cleaved from it's whole and crumbled to bits at the foot of its former self. Many lives were lost in the horrific collapse.

Once the dust settled, the people who came to camp in the north, called the "Durish" by the local Faer, noticed caves in the now exposed rock face. Upon exploration, these caves were discovered to be filled with ores of silver and iron as well as other precious minerals. This lead to the mining boom in the region.
